Lightzone with 7d mark ii software#
To me, auto mode = stupid mode because (1) you don't know what the dufus who programmed your cams software was thinking, (2) you don't know what the dufus who programmed your strobes software was thinking, (3) it's easy to forget what the max subject-strobe distance is with your equipment & may/will exceed it. That's probably because you used Exposure Mode = auto exposure (0). I used fill flash, but still have horrible harsh shadows on everyone’s faces. Short of asking the bride & groom if we could please have a redo (inside!!! Or at least later in the day), is there anything I can do? Thank you for any help you can throw my way.

I have read about converting one image at the correct exposure, and then under or over exposing another copy, and merging the layers… but either I’m not doing it correctly, or that type of procedure won’t help these photos either. I am hoping that some of our members can help me with these photos (and thus, maybe I can save some of the others as well).

I am NOT strong in Photoshop, although I can follow directions. Add in a first time wedding photographer… and I’m sure we all know that nothing good can come of this. Picture if you will (cue the Twilight Zone music), an outdoor wedding, on a busy street, at noon, in 114 degree heat, a bride who almost always smiles with one eye winking, and a with the groom wearing a cowboy hat.
